The House of Stories

Warm, tactile materials set the tone throughout. In the living room, an ochre sofa meets a low carved timber table, a natural-fibre rug and layers of sheer curtain, all gathered beneath a sculptural ribbed pendant. Round cane-backed chairs and a long timber table form the dining area, which shares the same soft light from a curved window.

Craft and art run through every room. Woven panels are set into timber wardrobes and a television unit, and a brass-etched sideboard sits beneath a framed traditional painting in the entrance, beside a grid of carved wooden blocks. In the bedrooms, a hand-painted mural of birds and trees, a four-poster bed against a palm-leaf mural and fluted timber panelling keep the palette quiet, and the powder room pairs crane wallpaper with deep blue tiles.
